Katie and Chris were married on May 24, 2009 at the charming Yosemite Chapel followed by a reception at the beautiful Wawona Hotel. We knew the weekend would be a blast when we met them at their rehearsal Friday night. Everyone was having fun and it’s the only time we’ve seen two sisters battle it out with a game of “rock-paper-scissors” to see who would win the spot as Maid of Honor. The day of the wedding was beautiful as we headed into the crazy Memorial Day traffic in Yosemite Valley. After their emotional ceremony (there were no dry eyes in the house), everyone enjoyed the awesome view of Yosemite Falls. After more traffic chaos, we returned to Wawona for a lovely outdoor dinner followed by a lively night of dancing in the Wawona sunroom. They had so many unique touches to their wedding, including “heart stones” as their reception cards, a cupcake tower and of course, the groomsmen and groom’s cool checkerboard Vans.
